Prayers NSO

For the InterVarsity Next Prayer Partners and others willing to intercede specifically during the New Staff Orientation and training, June 21-30, each day has a prayer focus that follows the emphasis in the sessions:

Monday, June 21

  • Lord, watch over Kirsten as she travels from home to Madison today to meet other new staff for orientation to ministry with InterVarsity. Guide her thoughts and preparations to arrive refreshed and ready for learning, interacting, and gathering the tools to effectively plant a deep and flourishing work within the people and academic structures in St. Cloud.

Tuesday, June 22

  • Savior, as the author of the original God Spell (Gospel), weave the story of your work and redemption on this campus and of the call of your chapter planter clearly for all to hear the wonderful way in which You bring your plans to fruition. May your story be articulated clearly and in a compelling way to potential partners and participants in this ministry.

Wednesday, June 23

  • God, you have designed this ministry from the beginning. Reveal your plan to Kirsten to gather specific partners to pray over, give toward, and mentor this new ministry with graduate students and faculty so that you may be known in an new way in this place, and that it will bless these partners in amazing ways–both tangible and inspirational.

Thursday, June 24

  • Knowing that everything belongs first to you God, People say this day is a mountaintop experience as Kirsten and the other new staff invite partners, introducing themselves and the ministries with the goal of funding a mission in one the most influential, yet increasingly secular, places in the world: the university. Open hearts, loving Lord, and let the conversations today confirm how You go before us, preparing the way and testifying to Your provision and blessing in people’s lives. We wait to be amazed beyond expectation!

Friday, June 25

  • Friend and Encourager, thanks be to you God, for giving colleagues and connections to encourage and befriend Your workers today. Spark conversation and collegiality among the participants so that the work this week is as much about a establishing a supportive collegial community, as it is about building community on the campuses across the nation.

Saturday, June 26

  • Rest. Breathing out the stress, the schedules, the flood of information, Lord, please wash over your Kirsten on this Sabbath day between the first and second halves of the orientation. May your Spirit breathe long and deep into these staffs’ lives today.

Sunday, June 27

  • You say, Lord, that people will be drawn together from the east and the west and from every tribe and nation to praise your Name… let that be true on these universities and grant insight into cultures and customs as the work of growing diverse community is engaged.

Monday, June 28

  • Today, the focus turns toward helping these growing campus communities of people come into your presence, God… introducing individuals and those they influence to the saving knowledge and grace of your Son and your plan for their lives. As the staff seek to practice authentic evangelism, please bless this day with clear speech and eager ears in life- transforming encounters.

Tuesday, June 29

  • You are the cornerstone on which this ministry is built, Holy God. As Kirsten and the new staff seek to join you in building chapters across the map, let them hear from veteran staff and creative people about how to progress well and with integrity. Engrave the scriptural blueprint upon them for the work in this context and give them helpers and colleagues to make the work light and full of joy.

Wednesday, June 30

  • Ten days and many miles from where the journey began for Kirsten and her colleagues–praise be to you, God for your infinite wisdom and the gift of this time to be immersed in learning and practice. Send out these new workers into the field for you have said that the harvest is ready. Bless them as they travel!
